Daxie Development Zone

Established in March 1993, Ningbo Daxie Development Zone is a state-level development zone with port transshipment and storage, port-related industry as leading industry. It is the only one state-level development zone in China being developed by a company, CITIC Group.

Daxie Development Zone covers an area of 30.8 square kilometers, with deep water coastline of 10.7 km, which can meet the requirements of building 49 berths, and 12 berths ranging from 3000-250,000 tonnage have been constructed. Daxie sea-spanning railway and highway bridge connects Daxie Island with the mainland. Using Yangtze River Delta that includes Zhejiang province and Shanghai and areas along the river as its hinterland, Daxie island is an ideal place to build large coastal transshipment port and port-related industry base in east of China.

Daxie island enjoys advanced infrastructure after nearly ten years?development and construction and becomes a hot place for investors. More than 100 leading domestic and foreign companies including bp, Hong Kong Merchants International Terminals, Sinopec, Yantai Wanhua, etc. are developing in Daxie island, and a special industry structure is being formed with port transshipment, storage, petro-chemicals and other port-related industry as leading industry and precision chemicals, building materials, medicine, machinery manufacturing, textile as supplement. And berth groups including dedicated berths of oil products and liquid gas, container terminal and bulk cargo terminals are gradually coming into being in the west and east harbor districts.
