Topography
Mountainous land covers 43% of the total area of Daxie island
with mountainous land sitting in the central part of the island,
and the peak point of the mountain is 333 meters high. The
mountains in the central part divide the whole island naturally
into separate functional areas of petro-chemical industrial
parks in the north-east and north, industrial parks in the
south and west, living residential area, administrative and
commercial area.
Meteorology
Daxie Island belongs to the humid subtropical monsoon climate
belt, with apparent alternation of monsoon winds in summer
and winter. The island is moderate in temperature and distinct
in seasonal change.

The typhoon season occurs from July to September, and the
statistics show that the average yearly occurrence of tropical
cyclone is 2.7 times with 5.5 days, and the occurrence of
tropical cyclone with severe impact is 0.5 times.
This area is located in temperate zone in latitude, and
it is free from ice and freezing. Snow often happens in December,
January and February, especially in January with the occurrence
rate of 0.62. (Details see the following table)
