Ningbo-Shanghai-Nanjing Crude Oil Pipeline has been smoothly getting on since the start at the beginning of 2003, and the pipeline has successfully paved across the Huang Shijiang River, which is located in the middle of Daxie Island and Chuanshan Peninsula. It is said that the total investment is RMB 2.3 billion yuan, and that the pipeline will at last reach Shanghai Gaoqiao Petrochemical Co., Nangjing Refining Plant and Yangtze Petrochemical Co. respectively via Beilun, Zhenhai, Cixi and Hangzhou Bay, whose total length is 666km. After operation, the annual handling capacity can hit 20 million tons. The pipeline in Daxie Development Zone is about 9.6km, from the 250000 DWT crude oil terminal to Huan Shijiang River.
